Not really. SD cards are rated for the minimum speed (read or write) while the CF cards are rated for the maximum speed (read or write). But...

In general CF cards are usually faster than SD cards. Both Sandisk and Lexar have CF cards that are faster than any current SD card. This doesn't mean that the camera does support it.

If you look at the test speeds of CF cards and SD cards in the D800 (or any dual slot CF/SD card cameara) on Rob Galbraith's site, you'll see that the write speeds of the fastest CF cards are 150% to 200% faster than the equivalent SD card.

No two ways about it, SD cards just don't push data at the same rates as CF cards, no matter how they are rated.
