We thought 6MP and VGA were hot stuff a few short years ago.  If I had ten bucks for every great pic I've taken in various incredible places around the globe at 35mm, 6X7 or 6 or 8 MP which now look forlorn at 1080p, I be in the Bahamas by now. There is a whole paradigm reset which happens as you migrate to a  new resolution standard.  Shots which I took with my D7000 now look a bit mushy in the finest details.  Because they are.  I just didn't see them in that way at the time.
