Like HDR, inversion can result in over the top images that succeed or not based on one's taste:

The Fifth Dimension

Inversion flips the tones as well as the hues making a rather dark pic light and dreamy.  It is not an automatic choice because the flipped colors can be plain awful.   In this shot, I selected the yellow color channel and adjusted the water color to make it complementary to the others.

Like HDR, one can also make images with a less obvious effect.  Here, a lighter, warmer pic became darker and cooler.

The Ice Princess

With either shot, I like the way the new colors stand out.

Very nice, those.  interesting you mention thisI have in my gallery a couple of inverted B&W I did only this past weekend.

I actually have a black and white inversion of the above statue--done from the normal color version.   Not appropriate to share here.  One of the few rules on this color thread:  no black and white.  Which puts some images in a gray area as another member posted above.  Shades of gray are colors by normal usage (What color car do you want?  The gray one.).  And, are actually fine here as long as the image is not, technically, a black and white image.  Although some may buy gray cars, I am not sure how many people would answer gray to the following question:  What is your favorite color?

Do you mean your gallery here or another gallery online?  I will check them out.

Edit:  Very nice, including the color inversion!
