I use Auto Iso all the time.....except when using flash. Then I set it to 200 iso if close to subject using my SB900s and increase iso as distance increases. Seemed like a good idea when I started doing it years ago and still works.

I don't have to worry about what goofy things the D7000 may be doing when shooting with flash in auto iso.
