For the type of shooting you do.... portraits and pets.... a M4/3 system might be ideal for you, Especially if your medical condition requires you carry less weight.

I wouldn't even worry about using your 4/3 lenses with an adapter, since there are several fine M4/3 prime lenses that are outstanding, small and light, and AF much faster than any 4/3 lens with an adapter.

Specifically I am referring to the M4/3 45mm f/1.8 and the 75mm f/1.8 prime lenses, which are both excellent for portraits.

Also remember the latest generation of M4/3 cameras has a sensor which is much better than the sensor in your E-3, and even better than the sensor in the newer E-5. You get more resolution plus the ability to shoot at higher ISO.

You may find it totally unnecessary to use your excellent, but much larger, 4/3 lenses.
