purple/pink color when lifting shadows on D600 in Capture NX2- how to correct?
Mar 30, 2013

Hi, I love and rely on being able to lift shadows on the d600 when needed.  Often i can underexpose to avoid blown highlights from the sunset and then lift shadows to something that was only possible by HDR in the past.

But using Capture Nx2 - using the shadow slider I am left with lots of pink.  Lets say i am shooting rocks or the beach at sunset - the beach or rocks will be all purple or pink after lifting the shadows.  Given, we are talking about lifting shadows 2 or more stops, so yes maybe filters would be a better alternative.

So with Capture NX, how could I correct?  Should I adjust the color balance?  if so, how?

thanks
