If you edit in Picasa, you might find this modification useful. It sets the lighting sliders in the middle of their ranges, so you can tune both "up" and "down" instead of only one way.

Sherm, thanks but that's the Wiggers Hack I just mentioned, I believe. I used Wiggers' hack as a starting point but I changed the "Ranges" to suit myself.

The most useful thing, I find, is being able to lower the Fill Light. Occasionally, lightening the Shadows has had its uses too.
