I have the 105f2 DC lens on order. Now, I'm shopping for lenses with similar characteristics.

They must be AF and I would say from 20mm - 80mm primes or zooms and 2.8 and faster and great on d700.

I'm looking for lenses that have those "special characteristics" that is hard to describe like the 105 f2. You know that buttery beauty thing going on

105 DC is praised for adjustable bokeh appearance. You can either set front bokeh to be smooth and rear to be edgy, or on opposite side, rear bokeh to be smooth and front to be edgy. Or something between where the middle is that both rear and front are neutral. This is what the DC ring does.

Of course, if background is already smooth without bright points, even picture from a lens with edgy rear bokeh will not distract.

If you prefer smooth rear bokeh (the one behind the subject),

you will like: Sigma 50/1.4, Nikon 50/1.8G, Nikon 28/1.8G

you will dislike: Nikon 50/1.4G, Nikon 50/1.4D, Sigma 35/1.4 A
