While digital PER SHOT is cheaper...

Film per good shot is much cheaper.

I had a high hit rate of good shots with film, much much higher than I have with digital as I took more care.

In a wedding I might take 120 shots with medium format. I would be disappointed if more than 5 were poor..

That's the way it was.

You kept the same camera year in year out. Money was spent on film, development etc.

You could save a lot on digital if you kept the latest cameras which are as good as you will every really NEED.
