My 2nd D7100 has set up pretty close to 0 AFT on most of my lenses except my Nikon 35mm f1.8G (a problematic one for sure). It likes +2 for my Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 EX OS HSM, and +2 for my Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 EX OS HSM, 0 for my Nikon 50mm f1.8D. My Sigma 17-50mm OS HSM is so much sharper than my old Promaster/Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 that I haven't even bothered to set up that lens on this D7100 (I tried it on the first until the new Sigma arrived). Only the 35mm f1.8G is an outlier, at -15 or so for accurate AF on the center point.

My moon shot was done at +2 on my Sigma 70-200mm and I'm very pleased with it! http://www.flickr.com/photos/38350658@N04/8585080974/ I don't think I can do any better no matter if I fiddled with it further. 100% crop of SOOC JPG, using the 1.3x mode to extend my 200mm to an effective 400 on the D7100.

The D7000 I tried could not come close to matching this sort of resolution.
