I hope you have solved your problem by now.

If it was not a synch problem, it could also be a polarizing effects caused by the paper fibers.  Normal paper won't do that, but fine Art paper might have the fibers somewhat aligned.  What leads me to raise this possibility is the following:  You see the effect on the unpainted and white areas, while the colored areas don't show the effect.
