This is when the differences between FF and APS-C become really significant.  The FF allows a better separation from the background given a narrower DOF.

Ah I see, now I see another reason for the pandamonium for a Pentax FF!

I think I'll buy some film and try my Pentax s1a out then. I don't have macro lenses although I do have a Vivitar 28mm close focus, CZ 50mm Tessar and Helios 44-2 which I think all focus pretty close.

Do lenses focus closer on a full frame than a crop sensor?
