The difference to me is in the more digital look of the E-M5 (not only when using the 45/1.8).

I prefer the D800 iq even in non challenging studio conditions but can live very well with what the E-M5 delivers. Handling and AF were better on the E-M5 because the D800 had AF problems. I'd love to add a D800 to my equipment but would not give up the E-M5.

The EM5 image looks sharper in this case. Since both images were downsized to 12MP the image from D800 lost more information than the EM5 image. Did you also try comparing them after uprezzing the EM5 image to the size of the D800 image? That should lead to the expected result that the D800 image looks sharper.

The D800 image is a crop with 4800px on the long side, downsized to 4000px. I had to use the middle AF field and recompose and my guess is that the model moved a bit. Plus the 45/1.8 is very sharp when stopped down.
