You will be able to get more detail out of raw files and you will be able to correct exposure problems better than with the jpegs but not as much as from a camera with a bigger sensor or lower pixel density. The main problem I find with the raws from the HS20 (which has the same lens - I think) is correcting the lens distortions, mainly at the wide end.
