X100 AF system - FW (firmware) paradox
Mar 24, 2013

I tested two X100 cameras; one with FW 1.21, 2012 production, and another with FW 1.11, 2011 production. The 1.11 FW was focusing -significantly enough to clearly notice- faster than the 1.21 FW camera and with no cases of failure to AF.

Can anyone explain this?? Does this imply that certain newer FW versions can decrease X100's AF speed and capacity to focus? Is this -perhaps- related at all to any changes Fujifilm did to its design in later production models in order to fix the sticky aperture design or QC defect? What about the latest (1.31?) FW?

Fujifilm... this is ridiculous...
