I just recently got my 70-200 f4, had not much time to use it. My first thoughts though, tend to be positive. Would I like an f2.8, yes...however, much of my photography does not involve a tripod, does involve walking through the woods and the snow and wherever else my 2 (one rather large) dogs take me....the f4 is a much nicer fit...for me....easy to lug around...not quite as bulky and the vr seems to work well...

Given the chance and $$$$, I may still yet end up with an f4, or something with more reach, later..
