The plan is to offer FF in as small and light bodies as possible and to develop brand new FF lenses to also be as light and compact as possible.

Well I'd rather have a lens with as good a focusing mechanism, sharpness, and detail instead of being light and compact being the most important parts.  if I'm going to spend $2000 on a camera, put lenses in the same quality on it.  Nothing is worst than spending a lot of a camera and put on cheap lenses that don't get you the resolution that the image sensor is capable of.

Just a few years ago, if you wanted FF, you had to spend 7000+.

That was all the way back 8 years ago.  In fall 2005 the $3300 5D came out.  We've had affordable 35mm dSLR ever since.

Now you can get them for just about 2000.

We've had the $2000 Sony a850 for about 3 years now.  And the market isn't going any lower for new 35mm.  The RX1 is $3000 and the 6D and d600 are around $2100.

Next they'll be offered at the $1500 price point.

You might be able to find a new 5D2 in the 1600 to $1800 range already.

Since in the short few years Canon and Nikon will offer $1500 FFs,

This is unlikely.  35mm image sensors are 8 to 10 times  more costly to make than aps-c due to the bigger size, and hence lower yield due to manufacturing defects.  35mm will stay in the enthusiast range and hence higher pricing.  They come with bigger lenses and biggere cameras than aps-c and 4/3.
