DSLR Image Quality
Mar 22, 2013

I'm looking to move up to a entry level DSLR, probably a Nikon D5100 or a Canon T2i, from my Panasonic DMC-FZ35.

But when I use the "Compared to Jpeg" feature on this site, the low ISO images are not that much of an improvement over the FZ35. Even when I downloaded the jpegs and blew them up, there still does not seem to be a significant difference in image quality. Image quality quickly deteriorates on the FZ35 at higher ISOs, but shouldn't there be a big difference at a low ISO too? The DSLR images are better, but I was expecting a more pronounced difference.
