with the right gear setup the right way is our goal whenever we go out with our cameras. It's great fun when it actually works out like that. Late this afternoon I went down to the trail where a pair of Red-shouldered Hawks have rebuilt their nest and found that the female has just gone on nest, appropriately on the first day of Spring. I took a shot with my K5+DA*300,

then switched to K5+1.7AFA+DA*300

Next I went on to the pond to see if any migrant waterfowl have arrived. On the way I noticed that the moon was high in the late afternoon sky and a jet was approaching it. I had just enough time to focus on the moon when the jet entered and crossed the field of view.
