There are 2 types of CA, the usual stuff where edges are outlined and the amount of CA increases towards the edge or corner of the frame, this is the CA mentioned in the reviews most of the time. Then there is what people call Bokeh CA, longitudinal aberrations, this CA occurs and contrasty areas go out of focus, you usually get a magenta cast one way and a green cast the other way. It is much harder to get rid of and the cameras CA correct isn't design to deal with it. Now the sweet spot for the FA50mm F1.4 is F2.8 with regards to the least amount of bokeh CA, however try the same shot at a brighter aperture and see what changes, it could likely be a lot worse then the 40. Bokeh CA is not what most people refer to as CA when describing a lens and in many cases it doesn't appear.
