But when you choose a Gamma in calibration software the software usually doesn't make any open distinction of what the underlying calculations are. So the user can setup AdobeRGB and Gamma 2.2 or he can set up sRGB and Gamma 2.2 and frankly I always considered these to come up with the very same non sRGB gamma curve. Maybe the software does different calculations under the hood then, but I feel more comfortable with software that gives me an explicit "sRGB" choice for gamma (or documents what's happening).
