Yes, shooting styles vary. That's why there are so many cameras and lenses out there. And shooting styles evolve too.

In the 35mm film days, I used a 50mm fixed lens the most. I had a wide angle and a zoom lens that I used when I needed them. When I switched to digital, I used mostly point-and-shoot and got used to being able to quickly reframe and move from wide angle to telephoto in an instant. Then, when I got the DSLR, I thought I'd use it like my old Pentax. But my expectations changed.

I'll see what other lens options are out there that may work well for me. Thanks for the suggestion.
