CM photo 1st try

I got my CM today. After calibrating cm, I ran monitor calibration and profiled hp premium paper. No errors, all went smooth. Downloaded color checker plate jpg and printed it using the cm generated profile. When i place printed color checker next to monitor the colors do not match... I tried to set the custom profile in photohop for proof and tried both the CM generated profile as well as monitor RGB.

1. Is running: "Match my monitor to the printer" colormunki software the same as calibrating monitor and printer separately? I did not run "match my monitor to printer, instead i calibrated both separately.

2. I saw on youtube that cm photo can read ambient light and adjust monitor colors accordingly. Does it do it in real time or do they simply mean user can create a sunlight profile and then indoor lights profile and manually switch between the two?
