It's funny - on larger DSLRs, the Nikon mount looks too small, but when you flip things and start looking at an ultra-compact DSLR like the EOS-b, the Canon mount now looks comically large. I would agree that this is all starting to look like a fairly desperate rearguard action on Canon's part - I can't imagine the ergonomics of the EOS-b (already less-than-great on all low-end DSLRs) are going to be anything to brag about, and the body itself just looks, well, smooshed, like something happened during shipping.

And while there is certainly a market for those Canon/Nikon super-teles, in the grand scheme, that market is very, very small (but lucrative, given that each lens fetches $10kUS+ these days). In any case, chasing large lens fanatics with a camera system that is designed to be small seems like a losing proposition. A decent 300 F4 would certainly be welcome, regardless
