Much faster in low light. My very nice walkabout lens. Flare resistant, I've even shot directly into the sun. Comes with a nice lens-hood which fits reversed over the barrel, for storage.
Yes, I like manufacturers that actually supply a lens hood WITH the lens you bought. The 16-50 has no lenshood at all, as far as I am aware.
My Sigma 30 didn't come with a lens hood. As far as I know, there isn't one.
