I expect the D7100 at 6400 looks like the D300s at 3200 or the D7100 3200 looks like the D300s at 1600. People can argue over it, but is that improvement really important to you? I would stay with the better focus lock and potential 8fps of the D300s unless I needed 6400 iso.

eye-fi cards in an adapter might be an alternative to the expensive and slow WT-4 D300 wifi addon. All DSLRs I know  process the jpegs much cleaner-looking even if to the cost of finest detail which doesn't matter on sports pictures.

I'd be wary of having to buy a D7100, battery grip and wifi unit from very new without a lot of user anecdotes to find out if I could work with it or not.
