Today I took few more pics of the wild ducks. I used A99 with the Bigma 50-500 OS and also the NEX-6 with the LA-EA2 adapter and Kenko 1.4x teleconverter + Sony 70-200 G F2.8, which gives this combination almost the same focal length as with Bigma (420 mm in terms of 35 mm). Both lenses worked quite nicely and I was also happy with the results.

Bigma 50-500 OS at F6.3 and 500 mm

For my purposes Sigma gives quite good sharpness even when fully zoomed at 500 mm and shot with full aperture (F6.3). At F8.0 sharpness gets usually even better.

Bigma 50-500 at F8.0 and 500 mm

Only problem that I've noticed with Sigma and A99 is that I haven't figured it out if and how the focusing limiter of the A99 will work with this lens. If I try to adjust the focus range from the A99, the focusing starts to be unreliable and non-useable.

NEX-6 with LA-EA2 adapter and Kenko 1.4 TC + Sony 70-200 G

Has anyone used succesfully the focus range function with the Bigma and A99?
