RAW + Jpg Question

Hi all,

This may be a kinda dumb question but here goes:

When choosing the Image Settings for RAW + JPEG. If I'm going to be editing off the RAW's and just using the JPG for previewing purposes... Is there any reason I shouldn't use the lower RAW + JPG (Basic) to save some space on my SD card and squeeze a few extra images out of my card rather than shooting RAW + JPG (Fine)... I'm assuming the Basic, Normal, Fine only applies to the JPG quality, is that right? And if that's the case than yea, I already answered my own question, I'd be fine with lower quality jpgs as long as the RAWs are still full quality raw files.
