His corrected sentence could read thus and be 100% accurate:

"Any lens made since 1959 will mount, although non-AI lenses may foul the pentaprism [of some bodies]".

Well, splitting hairs, your "some" has to be replaced with "most" (plus some other corrections) making it something like

"Any F-mount lens will mount, although pre-AI lenses may damage the meter coupling ridge of most DSLR-models". (1)

Starting to count with the D1 we currently have 35 Nikon DSLRs:

Damage can be done to 20 models

D1, D1h, D1x, D2h, D2hs, D2x, D2xs, D3, D3s, D3x, D4, D200, D300, D300s, D7000, D7100, D600, D700, D800, D800E

Due to a non-existent meter coupling ridge this of course can not be damaged with this 15 models

D100, D70, D70s, D80, D90, D50, D40, D40x, D60, D3000, D3100, D3200, D5000, D5100, D5200

(1) For the hairsplitting hairsplitters: With some cameras some lenses will not work due to not sufficient space below the pentaprism housing and also lenses which require the mirror to be locked-up permanently.

With the Nikon F5 the metering couple ridge ring could be replaced with one where the metering coupling ridge could be pushed upwards so pre-AI F-mount lenses could be safely used.
