I'd say the shutter speed for IR is definitely better. I can see through the LCD with the 850nm IR filter on even in low light, couldn't do that with the HS20, which means it's more sensitive. It might also explain why people go on about more purple fringing around objects, as it may also be a side effect of a better (for IR users) internal blocker. But i don't see too much ca anyway, and for IR this camera is better, quicker, more sensitive.
