I have been using Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2 for quite a while and really like the camera a lot. The picture quality is very crisp and color are really vivid. I shot mostly indoor and occasional outdoor fast moving objects. I am into flying, so most of my pictures outdoors are flying aircrafts etc So, I need a good zoom lens as well.

Currently I got Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2 with 14-42mm Lumix G VARIO f/3.5-5.6 for indoor and Panasonic 45-200mm f/4.0-5.6 Lumix G Vario for zoom stuff. Also using Metz 50 AF-1 MZ 50312OPL Digital Flash at time when required for indoor shoots.

I am looking at Nikon D7000 or EOS 60D. My budget is around $1000 prefer to get a good glass within the price. Should I really go for an upgrade or keep the existing one. The DSLR stuff always fascinated me but I never tried it before. So any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

The DSLR experience can tempt if it never was experienced.   I had that, and find the µ4/3 is what I prefer at this moment, but I know exactly what I'm missing.

$1000 doesn't go far for lenses, the better lenses, in either format.   Less so for the DSLR.

So go for a DSLR if that's the siren call.   The 12mp µ4/3 leaves something to be desired, though they fare quite well.   The 16mp sensors in the latest releases over the past year or so are a marked improvement. . . I'd go for a new G5, GH3, E-M5, E-PL5 with one of the 2.8 Lumix zooms (you tend to go for zooms, it appears) if you decided to stay within the format.   Maybe think about a fast prime too.   Though that's over-budget - though a new DSLR with a good fast zoom will take you over budget as well.   Ultimately, it's the glass that matters most.

Just throwing that out there as food for thought.   Good luck with your research and whatever you end up with.
