I am having the same problem. My body purchased in June 2012 was sent to LA twice last June and July for the left (and also right) AF issue. The second time it came back better.

But now, I feel it is a crap shoot to get a focused image width a somewhat open aperture (e.g  F4 with Nikonf2.8/ 24-70G ), on tripod and with a stationary target.

I can't get Focal Pro to finish a test, Focus Tune does not give any conclusive AF fine tune number either (see image, Sigma 35mm 1.4).

I guess, I will have to send it in again, and hope for the best.
