Meanwhile, I've had to add a note to my challenge and then forwarded it to someone who entered my bird challenge and who seems to have a high number of friends. Friends who vote the same way , 1 single vote for his photo's. Photo's that can win on their own too.

It is a real shame that a good photographer has so many friends (or accounts) that only vote 1 5 star and nothing else. Such a shame. It ruins this for everyone.

I received a response from the contestant which helps explain the lone 5 star voter patterns here and so my new post to the challenge states the following:

I've found the cause of the friend voting in a specific case here. Facebook was used to promote a challenge picture. I believe it was not intentioned to cause voter turnout to favor the photo, but, I believe the anonymity was lost by posting and seeing friend votes pop up. In fairness to the rest, I am DQ'ing it and have invited the contestant to join future challenges but not to post to Facebook until the challenge is over, where a win is a nice thing to mention.

I am very sorry, Barb; besides Facebook, this persons have been using multiple usernames as tasad has already pointed that out:

http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/post/51043476

We already had problems with them in the past but they never stopped cheating us. I had these names in my "List" for a long time!

That said, the issue with Facebook has also been discussed several times in the past and DPR even removed the link to Facebook for challenges!

Please forgive me; but I don't buy those excuses! ... This is not the first time for them!...

regards,
