This is a good point-and-shoot camera. Outdoor images are very good but indoor images are usually under exposed. The Optio230 flash is only good within 2m. I had a chance to compare this camera with the Canon A70 and Sony DSC-P72 in the same shooting situations. To my surprise, the Optio230 had no red-eye problem while the A70 and DSC-P72 got some red-eye pictures under the same shooting situations. In indoor test with flash, the Optio230 color was more natural than the A70 and DSC-P72. I have taken over 800 images on this Pentax Optio 230 and I'm happy with this little camera.
Problems:
The Optio230 has trouble in focusing objects in low light conditions. Auto focus is slow. Battery life is quite short. ISO setting is only up to ISO200.
