Pentax Optio S40 review
I was swinging between Pentax S40 and Casio Z-40 three months ago and bought Casio Z-40 for its size, large screen and 21 modes ignoring my friend's advice (he has been a photo shopkeeper for more than 20 years). Z-40's image quality disappointed me immediately. So I decide to buy a S40 as counterpart. I took advantage of local sale and bought S40 last week. I found the image quality of S40 to be much better than Z-40's. So I list the pros and cons of S40:
better image quality than Z40,
AA size battery (a very important factor for frequent travellers. This means you do not have to be tied to the power outlet in your hotel, you do not have to stay up in late night to wait for changing batteries in the recharging cradle for the re-freshed batteries for tomorrow in the trip. I even use rechargeable CR-V3 lithium battery to outlast Ni-MH batteries),
12X enlargement when reviewing.
no "Shoot" and "View" buttons to start-up.
So overall, Z40 is more convenient to start shooting and viewing while S40 has better image and larger image to review.
So far none.
