Olympus Stylus Verve (mju mini Digital) review
As a would-be replacement for a old Canon Stylus digital camera (one of the
first 1.8 MP models) I bought this camera. Using it on a skiing trip the outside
pictures were perfect. Nice detail, no problems. A sunshine-filled vacation trip
to Asia gave no problems outside, however pictures taken inside were grainy
and even with flash tended to be suffering from movement artifacts. Again a
sun-filled summer wedding in Northern Europe gave its problems too;
somehow the camera insisted in using flash outside using auto-flash mode and
I "just missed" a couple of moments I would liked to have made a shot
because the camera was reloading the flash, unable to make a picture. My wife
can't take one decent picture with it, and I always seem to be tinkering with
the menu and controls. I am really thinking about getting rid of this camera,
reverting back to the old 1.8 MP Canon that has served in the rain forest and
desert without any problems and even survived a fall on concrete.
Had to get a replacement camera because the cover door to the battery/card
compartiment would'nt stay shut. In the photo shop this seemed to be a
Image quality inside not up to par.
Auto-flash wants to use the flash on much occasions, outside as well.
