Konica Minolta DiMAGE X1 review
Heres the deal. Used the XT a TON. the XT has quick startup and 400iso. crucial!
The X1 seemed to be one of the coolest cameras when it was announced. 8.0MP!
wow. anti shake, big screen, and it looked shiny and polished. I got the camera
and it was apparent that it was lacking.
1. because they have the anti shake they removed the 400iso, leaving you with
200max. terrible. i fell into the trap. i figured that because the anti shake would
balance my hand movement i didnt need the 400iso. wrong. i was blinded by its
beauty and didnt think about its substance. i do that with women too. hah.
anyways, i forgot to think about the subject. what if they are moving? it requires a
quick iso to stop them down. damn.
2. the thing is slow on the shutter. real slow. annoyingly slow. damn
3. compared to the tank like alloy case of the XT the X1 is like butter. i had it in my
pocket with keys and when i sat down they were all pinched together. it gave me
this ugly dent and scratch. and on the surface of a polished finish, its real nasty
looking. makes you not even wanna use it.
3.a the reason i mentioned the appearance of the thing is not because im vain,
cause i am, but thats not the reason, its because the damn thing started
malfunctioning and when i sent it to minolta, they said it was impact damage that
caused it, cause of the dent. it wasnt, but they dont know that. so damn again.
just so you know, $150 minimum repair charge.
when i get the thing back from repair, ill be selling. maybe this whole small camera
with major features thing is too good to be true. my large format blowups were
alright, good detail, but an SLR would be much nicer.
