Sony Cyber-shot DSC-L1 review
The camera is very compact, even for today's standards. The battery is powerful which, together with the quality of the camera's electronics, enables fast recording of the shots. The video in fine mode is very good for the average end-user. I think the biggest shortcoming is the low performance indoors, and the bad quality of the automatic lens cover. Otherwise, it is a very good camera for a non-specialist.
After a year the lens cover got stuck and wouldn't retract, rendering the camera useless, even though the rest was in perfect conditions. I opened it up on my own, and I documented the procedure on my blog.
I wish there were more camera repair tutorials on DPR.
