Im speaking as someone with both D300 & D7000.
D300 is my go-to camera for everything but low light shooting and video, then my D7000 takes over. Both are excellent cameras and I have nothing bad to say about either, no AF issues with my d7000, it is just not as good as the outstanding AF of my D300. For me, if my D300 had the sensor of my D7000 i'd be very happy indeed.

Thanks for your insights.
On side note I went to buy a D7000/grip from craiglisht down here in Miami and what a disappointment. I had my cash on hand and the guy never showed up. That after texting back and forth all day. In the end, what gave it away as a fraudulent scam was that the guy never answered his phone but yet he would text but to top it off. I had told him on Friday, meaning today, and ended going on Tuesday, and that threw him off. Plus not to mention I went with 3 other guys as well.
Anyway, I'll check KEH, yup I agree these folks are top notch. I've had many great experiences with them in the past.
