Bokehlicious walkaround on a budget
Mar 13, 2013

The background: I've basically decided on my landscaping kit, though I haven't picked up all of the pieces yet (Nikkor 16-35, 24-70G (own) & either the Tammy 70-200 VC or Nikon 70-200 f/4). I've got a D800.

I like the zooms as I am often shooting in bad conditions and have poor finger circulation (they get cold fast), so it limits my lens changes.

However, these are all pretty heavy options. I'm looking for a cheap, fast, lightweight prime for general walkaround photography with good bokeh, preferably in the 35-50 range. As of now, the 50s (1.8D or 1.8G) are strong contenders but I'm trying to see if I should be considering something else. The Sigma 35 1.4 looks brilliant but is probably beyond my budget. I'm also considering the 85 1.8G, which is about the most I'd want to spend. It also might be too long.
