Thanks for the comments on the pictures. Not sure what went wrong on posting the photo in the thread.

The lens was a 17-35 which i'm also glad to say survived. I was surprised they both survived though as the wave was HUGE! It was -1 and there was a strong northerly wind. I was that wet that I had to completely change my clothes in the car park. Even my boxer shorts 

I had a 4 hour drive to my next location and hotel so left the camera and lens in the passenger footwell with the air con on to dry the gear out. Then gave it a good clean in the hotel.

I quite often get a soaking on my seascapes but nothing as major as that. I used to be a Coastguard so really should know better but we do take some risks to get "the" shot.
