Advice on shooting large groups please anyone?

Hi All,

I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to give me some advice on shooting a large group of people.

I normally do corporate head shots etc but have been asked to shoot a group of 50 or so people.  They will probably be arranged  as 5 lines of 10 people I imagine.

I feel comfortable doing it but there was one aspect of it that I would like to confirm.

Am I right in saying that, given the group will be sitting on some tiered steps, should I be raising my tripod up pretty high so I am more at  their level? It occurred to me that I don't want to give the shot a look of "Shooting up "on an angle.

I had intended to raise my pod up as high as it will go and perhaps stand on a step ladder...

I would appreciate any thoughts on this and perhaps I am being a bit finicky...

Kind regards to all,

Simon.
