TDP uses only one sample to do the test under unkown controlled evnironment. DXOMark's test is more scientific and accurate in general that shows 24-105L at 24mm is sharper thane 15-85 at 15mm side.

no it isn't, except if you only look at the image center.

TDP said in its one of its test (50/1.8?) that it picked a bad copy and promised to test again. TDP basically is one-person company that just doesn't have resources and integrity as DPR and DXO.  I don't suggest it doesn't do good job.  It did excellent jobs and I love that guy's personal opinions including its review on 24-105L (well balanced and excellent review) but just have some doubt in its QC in its lab test.

In the many images that I have seen, the 24-105 is way behind the 15-85 in the corners at 24mm equiv., except maybe stopped down to f/11 or so. Again, one can throw around numbers from DXO or TDP, but I'd rather trust my own eyes with real life pictures.

That seems odds with DXOMark and Photozone's tests.

DXOMark 24-105L on 5D2 at 24mm vs 15-85 on 7D at 15mm at respective wide open

Two more samples of 24-105L at 24mm side

those are scaled down crops that prove nothing.

2000-pixel wide is not small size that usially I can start seeing difference between 5D/5D2 and 60D files. We can compare at respective 100% cropped size if necessary. 24-105L is not stellar at edges/corners that I agree but not very bad either and they become pretty good when stop down a bit.
