Tips for a new XE1 Owner?

The painterly look is not as much driven by NR but rather sharpening. If you sharpen to the minimum you'll find NR -1 is really good. You sharpen less but you gain detail by reducing NR. Also, bokeh and color gradients  look a lot smoother on high ISO this way.
