As far as I can tell, all lenses show some hot spot. Some more (the Sigma 19mm), some less (Oly 45 mm least, oly 12mm a bit more). The one you picked was shot with the sigma 19mm. I did a bit of burning in the centre, and pushed saturation, which both added to the purple spot.

I have not done enough yet to determine how serious it is with different apertures and wb settings. I did figure out a rather simple way of lessening the hot spot in Photoshop (burn the mid-tones and shadows a bit and then desaturate a bit and add a bit yellow to the hot spot) after I made these pictures. After black and white conversion (my main interest) it is not much of a problem anyway.
