I use the DP3m since Monday and trust me, it is VERY possible to use it without any VF and/or tripod, especially when you go in RAW B&W mode and start to shoot at high ISO/High speed

Hello

There is NO reason to "trust " this assertion. First , if one never shoot outdoors in sunny situations , one may be fine using the LCD.and btw , no one said that the LCD is not usable. what has been reminded in this  thread , and only denied by a few for the sake of denying , is that

There are situations where using the LCD is not pratical

it would be a plus to have the option of an EVF ( and since it is an external one , there is NO logic denying that. for those who do not need it , do not buy it)

I am not sure why using B&W or high iso would make it easier to use the LCD  . when the LCD is barely visible it will be regardless of the ISO
