I typically shoot my D90 at base ISO (200), but was wondering what most people actually shoot at regularly with the newer bodies. I will typically set auto ISO up to 800 but no more for action photography.

Hi!

Agree with others that "it depends".

But with a D4 and a fast lens , I can almost shoot in the dark!:

Nikon D4 ,Nikkor 28mm f/1.4D AF
1/200s f/1.4 at 28.0mm iso12800 New Amsterdam Theater, New YorlK city

Nikon D4 ,Carl Zeiss Makro-Planar T* 2/100 ZF
1/60s f/2.8 at 100.0mm iso12800

Crop

But I try to shoot at or near base ISO when I can. I can't do this at ISO 12800!:

Nikon D4 ,Nikkor 200mm f/2G IF-ED AF-S VR
1/640s f/6.3 at 200.0mm iso400

RB

Those D4 shots are seriously impressive. Then again so is the price!
