8 speedlights is pretty complicated.  So is removiing wrinkles.  I use a 9 x 20 white vinyl background, held in place with painters tape.  This was from a jazz dance workshop, pretty much out of the camera.  I had a generalized light set up, two AB800's in 64" PLM's with diffuser socks, about a 2:1 ratio.  Groups and individuals and a lot of them, no time for drama.

Yes, it takes some time to carry in and set up, mostly the background. Monolights are as quick to set up as speedlites (which I use when its appropriate).
