Tamon 90 f/2.8 VC

Does anyone know when this lens is supposed to be released?  Tamron initially said the end of 2012, but it's not out in North America, at least.  I thought I saw something about Asia getting it earlier this week, but still haven't seen anything supporting this online.

Really interested in this lens, but I'd like to see some first-hand impressions, rather than the initial reviews that were done back in December.  The lag between announcement and release is a little worrying...
