True, I was just speaking in relative terms as a way of comparing exposure settings.  There has to be some baseline.  Overall the exposures are pretty darn close.

The Canon was using a better lens for this set of tests, but I don't know how much light loss it has versus the Nikon kit lens (which isn't too shabby itself).
